The Coteaux du Layon from Domaine TAILLANDIER is produced on 5 hectares near the
river of Layon (Anjou: Loire Valley). It is one of the greatest sweet wines in
France. The first COTEAUX were produced by the monks in the 11th century.
Terroir: This wine is produced on the Coteaux de Loire facing south. The soil is made
up of successive clay-schist layers.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin
Cultivation method: It is harvested by hand by successive sorting (5 sorts for the
“Tris de Vendanges” 2000).
Vinification: It is traditional and lasts for 5 long months with clarification by
repeated racking.
Filtration: This wine from Domaine TAILLANDIER has not been filtered on plates in
order to preserve all the character of its terroir.
Tasting: This Layon is a white wine with a nose of pear and apple. It can be defined
as a fruity wine, with great amplitude in the mouth.
Aging: She is exceptional, around 10 to 15 years old.
